New Entrant Bursaries

Bursaries at King's are means-tested awards made to qualifying households to ensure that there is no financial barrier to prevent academically able children from being educated at the school.

In order to consider all new bursary requests consistently, application should be made between November and early January for a bursary form for those testing for entrance. During the application process parents of registered candidates will be asked, by the Registrar, to indicate if they wish this form to be sent to them.

After entrance testing has taken place, if an application has been successful, we should be in a position to inform of the level of award with offer letters, however it may be possible that further information or clarification may be requested.

Parents should note the following:

  • At King's we do not publish a scale of fees payable based on household income, prefering to treat each application individually.

  • Due to demand it is not possible to offer all those who apply for a bursary, and get offered a place, funding. The standard of performance in the examination will also be a factor in the distribution of the funds.

  • The granting of a bursary is discretionary. In making its decisions, the School considers a wide range of appropriate matters including, but not limited to, parental/guardian income (from all sources), assets (including personal property) and other matters that are particular to the pupil such as family circumstances.

  • Bursaries will be reassessed annually.

Bursaries for Current Pupils

For information on bursaries if your child is already in the King's Foundation, please contact the Bursary, (if your enquiry relates to a child who will be moving from junior to senior school the Registrar registrar@ksw.org.uk will also be able to assist you). Ideally, please contact the Bursary as early as possible in the preceding academic year.
