Homework provides an ideal home-to-school link giving parents an insight into their children’s work and progress.
Reception to Year Two
In the Pre-Preparatory Department the children are set a daily activity, including reading, to complete at home.
Years Three to Six
Homework is set every night from Monday to Friday. As a general guide, twenty minutes is considered appropriate in Year Three, rising to thirty minutes in Year Six. In addition to homework, children are expected to read for at least fifteen minutes every day.
In the first term of Year Three the children will be given a multiplication tables or number bond learning exercise each Monday, a weekly spelling task each Wednesday, upon which they are asked to work for a short time every day and a Friday homework that will be varied in nature.
