Homework is set regularly for all Prep classes (Years 3 to 6). This is an important aspect of our programme and it reinforces learning in the classroom and also encourages independent learning. Homework initially comprises mainly of reading tasks, work on times tables and spelling exercises. As children move on into the older year groups, English, Maths and Science homework is set.
Prep children use Study Mates - these detail all homework tasks and provide a useful method of communication between school and home.
Pre-Prep classes do not have a homework timetable. Reading is set each night, with a reading log detailing reading which has been done at school in order that parents can hear their children read and communicate with their child's class teacher. Learning tasks such as spellings are also set.
