Sport and Activities

Sport and activities have a strong tradition at King's Hawford and teams regularly represent the school at rugby, football, hockey, netball, cricket, and rounders. Our teams enjoy considerable success at regional and national levels, and we often field "B" and "C" teams to ensure that as many pupils as possible have the opportunity of playing for the school.
All pupils are members of a House and there are regular competitions between the Houses in all of the major sports.
About 80 pupils stay for clubs and activities after school on most afternoons. We take care to ensure that the programme offers a wide variety of choices so that there is likely to be something for everyone. We regard this time as essential to developing interesting and engaging pupils and encourage all pupils in the Junior school to take part. The clubs and activities currently offered include: Animal Care; Art; Athletics; Ballet; Chess; Cookery; Craft; Cross-country; Country Dancing; Drama; Football; French; Gymnastics; History; Hockey; Horse Riding; ICT; Latin; Maths; Netball; Orchestra; Outward Bound; Chamber groups; Horse Riding; Rugby; Rounders; Science; Swimming; Technology; Tennis; Wind Band.
