Old Hawfordians
Since the establishment of Hawford Lodge in 1955, the school has offered a distinctive education to a large number of children. Boys initially, and then boys and girls, have enjoyed the opportunity to grow and develop while taking part in a wide range of academic, cultural and sporting activities.
Old Hawfordians' Day
On June 10th 2007, we welcomed back to the school 120 visitors at the first OH Day. The Old Hawfordians' Days are designed to allow those who have fond memories of their days at the school to get together with fellow pupils and to meet former and present school staff. Former pupils returned with their families and we were pleased also to have Douglas and Mary Ann Garrad with us, along with former and current staff. We were delighted to receive three members of the first class of 1955 and a stalwart of the school's teaching staff, Mr Darling.
Many photographs were taken on the day, which was beautifully sunny. Memories of busy days at the school were revived by those present, over lunch and while walking around the school.
The 2nd Old Hawfordians Day was held on Sunday, 14th June 2009. Click here for photos.
The most recent Old Hawfordians Day took place on Sunday 12th June 2011.
After the success of the inaugural day in 2007 the day forms a special part in the Hawford calendar and we would like as many Old Hawfordians as possible to share it with us.
The day includes a guided tour around the school, a chance to catch up with fellow Old Hawfordians and a buffet lunch in the Cobb. Douglas and Mary Ann Garrad will again be our guests and it is hoped that more former teachers may be in attendance.
The day is designed to include the whole Hawford family so please feel free to bring your family to enjoy the day.
