Parents
Introducing the King's School Parents' Committee...
The committee is set up to facilitate interaction between parents, pupils and staff through a calendar of social and fundraising events. A group of sociable parents get together during the year to organise a variety of events. You may already be familiar with some of them e.g. the School fete and the Christmas Ball.
Each year we raise thousands of pounds for the benefit of local charities such as Noah's Ark Trust, the Hospices and the County Air Ambulance. Money raised also benefits the School via grants for extra curricular facilities and equipment. Our most recent major project was to provide an air circulation system for the Theatre. This has just been completed.
As a result of the fund-raising activity, the Parents' Committee has purchased three very sturdy gazebos which assemble in minutes and create an covered and/or enclosed area 6m x 3m. We use them for lots of school events but they are available for hire by King's Parents for £30 per gazebo plus a refundable deposit. All funds raised will go to school projects.
To see a list of the parents currently on the Committee, visit the Committee page. If you would like to get involved in any way we'd be delighted to hear from you. Don't worry, that doesn't mean you'll have to attend endless meetings! We need practical help for each event and a couple of hours of your time would be more than enough to make a difference.
