Annual Reunion Weekend 2010

Over 210 people including 158 OVs and Honorary OVs took part in this year's Annual Reunion Weekend (Friday 17th to Sunday, 19th September 2010) including OVs from Australia, Germany and Italy.

The 107th reunion weekend began with the Golf Day. 40 players of mixed ages and ability and a team of lady players, competed on the course at Upper Sapey in great weather Russ Mason (Hon OV) had arranged prizes for every team. On the winning team were Russ Mason, Dave Mendham (Hon OV), James Bader (Os 84-94) and Thomas Weston (Cr 99-04. The overall winner was Thomas Weston (Cr 99-04).

Tours of the school took place on Saturday morning and were led by the Headmaster, the Deputy Head and Second Deputy Head and Marc Roberts and were a great opportunity for OVs to catch up with developments at the school and show the school to their families.

Lunch followed and this year the guest list included OVs celebrating their 90th, 80th and 70th milestone birthdays and many retired members of staff.

In commemoration of their 90th birthdays, the first Drum Major, John Reynolds (S 35-38) cut a celebratory cake with John Cowper (DB 30-36), who was an architect working on development of the school during the 1960s and 1970s.

At the Dinner on Saturday evening, guests were privileged to listen to a reunion group of Old Choristers who sang Grace before Dinner.

John Turner (Cl 40-44) was presented with the Chappel Memorial Award as the oldest OV at the Dinner.

The weekend ended with Eucharist and drinks with the Headmaster and Mary Anne Keyes on Sunday morning.
