Parisian Reunion

OVs and their guests attended the inaugural OV reunion in Paris hosted by Tim Fawbert (K 76-86) and Roger Thorn (Ch 48-56) on Friday, 6th February 2009. Supper was held at Paris Madeira, 28, rue Caumartin 75009 Paris.

Roger writes:
From small acorns great oaks grow, and so it was that four nurserymen resident in Paris planted the first acorn by holding an inaugural O.V. Paris Reunion on 6th February 2009. 61 years covered their time at King's but that didn't seem to seem to get in the way of their declared intent to enjoy themselves over the dinner-table and to plan how the future oaks could be nurtured. Leanne Sheen (W 99-06), Philip Glenister (Ch 77-87), Tim Fawbert (K 79-86) and Roger Thorn (Cr 48-56) came together at Tim's initiative, to whom all thanks must go. Since 21 known OVs and Hon OVs live in France it is hoped that future events can be mounted periodically which will attract members, and not necessarily to the capital, although it is true that all roads and rail-roads do lead to Paris. For our photo opportunity it proved impossible to exclude our Portuguese waiter, so we made Antonio an Honorary OV for the occasion. Our thanks are also due to the Development Office for providing us with the Champagne to propose a loyal toast to the King's School.
