School House Reunion Lunch

On 12th May 2008, fourteen of us gathered together at The Oxford and Cambridge Club in Pall Mall, London for the third biennial School House OVs Seventyish luncheon, where we enjoyed a superb meal in their Princess Marie Louise room.

Those attending were Andrew Hambling, Angus Nisbet, George Beckmann, Gordon Wrigley, Graham Jackson, John Brushfield, John Whitehead, Martin Davies, Martin Lorenz, Peter Raderecht, Richard Griffiths, Roland Wiseman, Richard Ager-Harris and Francis Bennett.

It is through the auspices of George Beckmann that we are able to use his Club and our thanks go to him for his continued membership. Also a special medal to Martin Davies who travelled from Perth that day, Gordon Wrigley who travelled from Portugal and Angus Nisbet from Crete – although not on that day! – to be with us.

Martin Lorenz showed us pictures of the bust of Henry VIII that he made for the new library in School House which complemented the excellent portfolio supplied by the Foundation Development Office showing how the School has progressed in the 55-60 years since we were "inmates".

The next (fourth) luncheon will be in 2010 at the same place on Monday 10th May 2010 when I expect we will title ourselves 'Seventyish/Eightyish Lunchers'! We hope a few more School House OVs whose stay encompassed 1947-52 will be able to join us – there is room here for 25.
