The Barnabas Group
The Barnabas Group was founded in 2008 to build on the legacy of St Barnabas.
St Barnabas was a fellow traveller with St Paul on his missionary journey during the early years of the establishing of the Christian church. He was an inspirational figure and is described in the Acts of the Apostles Ch. 4, v.36 as "the son of encouragement".
In a continually changing world it is important that young people have role models to whom they can aspire for inspiration and motivation. Such people come from many different walks of life and the OV community provides a rich variety of such individuals.
Distinguished OVs, who have excelled in their chosen profession, are invited by the Headmaster to join this group and to speak to the school in College Hall of their experiences, the lessons they have learned from them and the encouragement that they feel able to pass on as a result.
It is hoped, that members of the Barnabas group will continue to provide help, advice and encouragement to many future generations of King's School students.
