King's St. Alban's Viking Shipyard!
On Saturday the Sports Hall at King's St. Alban's was full of Viking Shipwrights, all working hard to complete an authentic Viking Longboat, large enough to sail. Year 4 children from St. Alban's were joined by children from other schools, who are hoping to join us in the next year.
The children, dressed as Vikings, made a great team and all were prepared for the hard labour of ship building. They also enjoyed making other vital Viking tools, such as a compass, shields for going into battle and weaving on a loom.
The children's hard work was rewarded with a traditional fish and chip lunch so that they could refuel before going off on a Viking journey in the newly built ship.
