Day to Day

In the Pre-prep school starts with registration at 8.40am, but care is available from 8.00am (inclusive of the fees).  An assembly is followed by lessons - interrupted by playtime and a healthy snack enjoyed together and provided by school.  Lunchtime is at midday and the children and staff all eat together. The day's hot meal is served to the children at tables set up in the hall.  A sample of the menu can be seen by clicking here.

The children swim once each week using the School's indoor, heated pool. They can also opt to join an after-school swimming club. P.E. and Games are taught in the hall, on the playground or using the school fields and school gardens.  Music is often held in the hall, in the Junior School music room or outside and they may also visit the Junior School for IT in the large computer room. 


The end of the day is staggered, with Reception finishing at 3.20pm and Year 1 and Year 2 at 3.30pm and 3.40pm respectively. Many stay for a snack before joining clubs; after-school care runs through to 5.50pm (again, inclusive to the fees).
