Homework

Homework provides an ideal home - school link giving parents an insight into their children's work and progress.

For ages 4-7

In the pre-preparatory department the children are set a daily reading activity to complete at home. 

For ages 7-11

Other than during the first term of Year 3, homework is set every night - Monday to Friday, usually one subject is set each night.

As a general guide, 20 minutes maximum is considered appropriate at age 7+, rising to 30 minutes minimum by 10+. In addition to homework children are expected to read for at least 15 minutes every day. In the first term of Year 3 the children will be given a multiplication tables/number bond learning exercise each Monday; a weekly spelling task, set each Wednesday, upon which they are asked to work for a short time every day; and a Friday homework that will be varied in nature.
