King's was a period of my life which was as fulfilling as it was challenging. I enjoyed all of the great activities which King's had to offer: cricket, rowing, rugby, not to mention the wonderful range of choral, drama, and scholarship. After leaving
King's, I went to Christ's College Cambridge and from there to the City, where I
worked as a lawyer before going into banking.
Twenty years
ago my wife Kim and I founded Pimley & Pimley Inc., a specialty financial
consulting and training firm which delivers customized training programs
to the financial services industry. With twelve
partners serving six continents, the firm now provides services to many
of the world's leading commercial and investment banks.
I am certain that the fullness and richness of my professional life would never have been possible without the grounding which I received from my family and school. |
In 1999 I established a bursary for students in the name of my father, John P. Pimley, who attended King's from 1937-1939. While the bursary was a start, Kim and I wanted to provide more immediate help to young men and women in need, and starting in 2002, have sponsored two groups of three pupils through their sixth form education.
When we watch how the talented young men and women at the King's School have availed themselves of this financial support over the last five years,we cannot think of a more rewarding and tangible result from our charitable activities.
