Our Pupils

Ross Attwood (S 09-11)
Foundation Award

The last two years have flown by and the memories I have made at King's will never be forgotten. Over the last two years I have been given many opportunities to become a more well rounded student. My personal highlights include two successful seasons with the 1st VX, 1st XI and 1st VII. Being awarded the role of head of school house was also one of my proudest achievements, with my recent awarding of the Bowler cup for my contribution to school sport at King's day being my happiest moment from my time at King's. All of these achievements both academically and sporting would not be possible without the support I received which I am extremely grateful for.

King's Scholar and Foundation Award

The King's School has given me some of the best years of my life and I thinkthe opportunities offered to students are amazing. The drama at King's has been a particular highlight for me over the last couple of years. The theatre is a fantastic resource and having been able to be in three school plays and direct another myself, I really appreciate all that King's has to offer in this area. I have learnt so much at King's and it has really helped me to develop as a person.

Ilija Rasovic and Emmie Le Marchand (2009-10 Heads of School)
King's Scholars and Foundation Awards

King's is like a home from home, a second family. The comparison might not be the most original but it fits quite nicely. Over the years, whether that be two, seven, eleven or something in between, we have all become part of a tightly-knit community, both within our year and within the school as a whole. We've shared our ups and downs; had our own unique experiences; said goodbye to old friends, and welcomed new ones; tried our hands at a huge range of activities, acquiring tastes for some and learning to avoid others at all costs.

King's is an experience. You do not just join King's. You become a member of the family.

Every single one of us who leaves today has a collection of memories which will be ours forever. Not only that, but the lessons in respect and other values which we have learnt along the way will undoubtedly help us make the most of who we are and what we are fortunate enough to have.

Ben Humphries (Cr 93-04)

When I was told I was to receive a bursary the overriding feeling for me was a sense of family. The one word to describe King's is family. We all have our ups and downs, relationships become strained, grow stronger, twist, turn and develop and through all of this I have always felt supported, encouraged, even loved by my family, King's.

Marty Perry (Ch 07-09)

I knew when I started King's in the 6th Form, that the two years ahead of me would be two of the fullest and fastest of my life. I can barely believe they are already over. I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of Choir House, we are all great friends in my year group and I am thrilled with the standard of teaching I have received and the relationships forged with all my teachers.

Annie Walden (Br 02-09)

In the past two years, I have begun to realise just how many good opportunities we are presented with, and sometimes take for granted, as pupils of this school. If the decision to send me to King's 9 years ago had not been made, I am certain that I would not currently hold an offer for the course I wanted at a highly competitive university, as I suspect that I would not have had the determination and motivation to achieve the grades that have made this possible. I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who have given generously to the school's bursary or scholarship funds in order to allow pupils who may not otherwise have had the chance to be a part of the whole King's experience. I am one of those and I will always be grateful for it.
