41 for 1541!

The 1541 Society for those who have made a pledge to the school in their will has grown to an appropriate 41 members.

This is encouraging news for King's as a legacy reflects the affection felt for the school and the strength of the King's community. It is also a very valuable income for the Trust as it allows the school to plan for the future.

Of those we know about, we recognise everybody who has left a legacy to King's by making them a member of the 1541 Society. A meeting is held once a year for members to acknowledge their commitments to the school, to update them on the future plans and to thank them for their support.

Leaving a legacy to The King's School Worcester Development Trust is very tax-efficient as they are free from inheritance tax, so the gift is deducted from the value of the estate before tax libability is calculated.
