Boathouse Blog - October 2011
So far during
October we have seen the external brickwork continue to grow
upwards; the addition of the glass panels which run down the side of the
building; and the impressive glass prow is now in place. There are also rooms
starting to take shape at the back of the building which will be the Boat Club
offices and changing spaces.
If you
look closely at the photos below you will see that the external woodwork is now
being put in place and this is made up of hundreds of panels of wood,
carefully put in place diagonally across the top level of the building, leaving
space for the prow with spectacular views up and down the River Severn.
On Monday, 24th October the current Chairman of the Development Trust, Hugh Scurfield; Bursar, Galen Bartholowmew; Development Director, Sophie Whitworth and the new Chairman of the Trust as of January 2012, Andrew Reekes visited the site. Photos below illustrate the progress that is also being made inside the building.
