Boathouse Blog - December 2011
Despite it being a rather warm December, the Boathouse builders have been busy putting the insulation down on the first floor. The silver foil on the insulation gives it a Christmassy feel at this festive time of year!
The glass doors which will open up on to the garden via a terrace are now in place and it is really starting to look like the superb training and social space that we know it will be.
The roof is more or less completed and the photos below will give you an idea of the windows in the roof which will allow lots of natural light in. The steps at the back of the building have been put in place and the foot of these will be the main entrance to the building for both floors.
In the week leading up to Christmas the first floor will be decked with wooden panels before laying the final flooring soon after. The electrics and plumbing have already started being put in.
It is fair to say that it is a much bigger space inside than it looks from the outside and while it might look like work has stood still – behind the walls there is lots of activity going on towards the final masterpiece that will be revealed very soon…
