Leadership

At King's, we believe that pupils should have the opportunity to experience leading others. Within the House system members of the Sixth Form have daily contact with younger pupils. The House Prefects, led by the Heads of House, help the House staff run the House and ensure that there is good communication between adults and pupils.

All members of the Upper Sixth are invited to become a mentor to a member of a Year seven class; the youngest and oldest pupils in the School gain a lot from this relationship. The Monitors, under the leadership of the Heads of School, play a vital role in helping the smooth running of the School. Apart from performing duties during the School day, they have a weekly meeting with the Headmaster and the Deputy Heads, at which they are invited to share concerns and ideas about the School.

A variety of extra curricular activities, from sports teams to the Duke of Edinburgh scheme or CCF, also encourage the development of leadership skills. Finally, pupils of all ages are invited to attend the School Council, at which they are encouraged to put forward their views about the improvement of the School.
