Houses (Years 9 to 13)
Pupils in Years 9 to 13 join one of eight Houses - Bright, Choir, Chappel, Creighton, Kittermaster, Oswald, School or Wulstan. Each House is run by the House Tutor and a team of five Assistant House Tutors, one for each year in the House. The Tutor team gets to know everyone very well and so pupils can turn to their Tutor for advice and support, not only on academic matters, but also on more personal issues.
There are about 80 pupils in a House and every morning they meet together. There are often House quizzes or social gatherings so that all the pupils get to know each other well. This can be particularly helpful when a new pupil arrives in School in Year 9 or above. Sixth Formers have their own House room, where they can relax during Study Periods, and they often have a separate House work room, if they need to do some work in House, rather than going to the Library.
