Religious Studies

Why do some people suffer? Is there life after death? What are the ethical problems of medical technology? Are science and religion in conflict? These are just some of the questions we ask in this subject, questions that are not only interesting in themselves but will teach pupils how, not what to think. Religious Studies will help pupils to think seriously and independently about morality and spirituality through engaging with the world's major religious traditions.

The Christian Union provides an opportunity for Christians and those interested in Christianity to get to know one another, have fun and find out more about the Christian faith. We have regular guest speakers and enjoy a range of activities, including discussions, outings and parties.

Our AS and A2 courses are wide ranging and provide a rigorous intellectual challenge. In fact, students will need to be a literary critics, historians, philosophers and theologians, as the course requires them to have not only an eye for detail but also the ability to see the broader picture. These are skills that will be immensely useful to anyone pursuing a humanities degree at university.
