The recent Inter-House Countdown Competition saw 24 competitors from LR – U6 battling it out using a mixture of mathematical speed, nerve and tremendous skill. Oswald, last year's finalists, were unfortunate to be beaten in a high scoring first match against Chappel. The semi-final line up was completed by Choir, Creighton and Bright.

In a wonderful and high quality final Chappel outscored Bright by 110 points to 90, with both teams scoring maximum points for a round on more than one occasion. Many congratulations to Chappel on retaining the trophy they won last year.

U4 Inter-Form Maths Team Challenge
This annual competition was held on 15^th November this week. It was made up of four separate sections, including a group circus round and a mathematical relay. Each form entered two teams and all competitors did extremely well, managing to solve a variety of challenging mathematical puzzles and problems.

The competition was, as always, hotly contested with the lead changing from round to round. After a close-run relay the winners by just 1 point were U4F.
