It was such a lovely surprise to hear that the 2009 Worcester Cathedral Choral Evensong was broadcast on BBC Radio 3 this Wednesday, 14th April.
It was truly lovely to listen to and extra special given that all the choristers singing will now be OVs.
The service included Rose Psalms: 108 & 109, ( How Lucas, Lang), Canticles: Stanford in B flat and Signet dem Hern by Bach as the Anthem. It was also an extra treat to hear the beautiful organ playing by Christopher Allsop (Hon OV) who was at the time Assistant Organist at Worcester Cathedral and is now our Assistant Director of Music here at King’s.
Music and Cathedral life is an incredibly important part of King’s and so many OVs will remember services, assemblies, concerts and spending time inside the beautiful surroundings of the Cathedral. The chorister tradition continues strongly and we have been delighted to announce recently that girls will now equally enjoy the many benefits of being a chorister.
