James Smalley (Br 10-17)2022 Graduation James Smalley
“After an incredible five years, earlier this summer I was delighted to graduate from Loughborough University with a First-Class Masters degree in Automotive Engineering. It was a great end to a period of time that also included an industrial placement year, countless games of Rugby and was capped off by a research project concerning the use of biofuels in Internal Combustion Engines. It is now time for the next chapter of my life and career at Mercedes AMG High Performance Powertrains near Northampton, where I will be helping to design and manufacture engines for Formula One teams such as McLaren, Williams and Mercedes AMG themselves. I can’t wait to get started!”

2022 Graduation Fran DescherFrancesca Descher (Cl 10-17)
“I graduated from the University of Exeter with a First Class BA Honours degree in International Relations and Spanish. Alongside my studies I also worked in the university’s Student Employability & Development team and was nominated for the ‘Student Employee of the Year 2022’ award in the Business Impact category for my work in that role. It has been a fantastic four years, with one year spent working in Granada, Spain during the pandemic, where I learned a lot and made friends to last a lifetime.

“My thanks go to the teaching and support I received at King’s for equipping me with the skills, confidence and work ethic for university and beyond. I’m so excited for what the future holds!”

Sophie Carter (Br 11-18)2022 Graduations Sophie Carter
“I graduated this summer from the University of Exeter with a BA Honours degree in Classical Studies. I had a wonderful time at Exeter, both in the lectures and within societies, including during my own Presidency. I am grateful for everything King’s taught me, and for the support of the staff, both when I was in the Sixth Form and going through UCAS, and for the support I received when I was at Uni and changed courses! I am really glad to be giving back to King’s this next year while working with the Senior School.”
