4×4 In Schools Challenge Regional Final 2018

The Jaguar Land Rover sponsored 4×4 Challenge Regional Final for the third year running was held at Shirelands Colligate Academy, Birmingham on Tuesday.

Our 4×4 team, ‘EDGE’ (Professional Class) was competing.

There were 12 teams, from all over the region. The standard of innovation, design and enthusiasm was high across the teams, so it was very much down to the long hours of hard work that enabled ‘EDGE’ to win the ‘Regional Winners’, ‘Best Engineered Vehicle Professional Class’ and the ‘Best Track Performance’ trophies.

Their fantastic pit stand, produced by DRP (one of their many sponsors), and display of development work drew an enormous amount of interest from the other competitors. The latest car is based on a flood response vehicle which impressed the judges as did the team’s breadth and depth of work to achieve such a versatile vehicle.

The team members were excellent ambassadors for the school receiving lots of praise and glowing comments from all those who they came into contact with. They articulated all of the experiences, both working as a team and technical aspects of the challenge, to a professional level.
