The end of the summer term is always very busy, so it was lovely to be able to sit back and relax with some beautiful music on Tuesday afternoon at our final Zoom Informal Concert of this academic year. This was a concert of firsts and lasts, with a number of children giving their first ever performance alongside others for whom this was their last appearance at a King’s St Alban’s Informal Concert. Many congratulations to Olivia K (Y5) who gave her first performance on the flute, Yiming H(Y5), Karla S(Y3), Jasper M-H(Y1) and Iris L (Rec), who all performed for the first time on the piano. Every year group in the school was represented in the programme, which featured film music alongside some old favourites and more unusual items.
Sophie P and Anna S (Y6) both took to the stage for the last time as pupils of King’s St Alban’s, entertaining us with two very different songs; ‘Orrible Little Blue Eyes’ and ‘Dream a Dream’. Both girls have been regular performers over their time with us and it has been a privilege to watch them develop in confidence with each appearance. We wish them well as they start the next exciting stage of their musical journey at ‘Big King’s’.
A lot of hard work had clearly gone into preparing the performances, which were all of a really high standard. Everyone showed real professionalism, coping well with the odd technical issue and adjusting to last minute programme changes calmly. This was a fantastic concert and a lovely way to end a busy day. Well done everyone!
