A Feast of High Quality Music

This year’s solo round of the house music competition involved the largest number of pupils in recent years and it was a real feast of high quality music-making. Over fifty pupils competed in College Hall and the winners of the various classes are listed below. Last Monday’s song competition was an entertaining afternoon with Chappel crowned as winners with their rendition of Abba’s SOS.

Wednesday’s Winners’ Concert gave a large audience of pupils, parents and guests the opportunity to hear the top three house songs and the various winners of the solo round. The whole competition was expertly adjudicated by the new Assistant Director of Music at the Cathedral, Nicholas Freestone. Recordings from Wednesday’s concert can be found on the music department’s Sound Cloud page. Well done to all who took part, and particular congratulations to those who conducted and accompanied their houses and to the individual winners listed below.
