We have had a super half term in Pre-Prep and it’s flown by. The department has been buzzing everyday with happy children and lots of different things going on. The children have settled fantastically into their new classes and learnt the new routines superbly! We have welcomed some new faces into Nursery too and it has been lovely to see everyone smiling. We have also really enjoyed being able to have our parents in the building at the beginning and end of the day and it has been lovely to have some face to face contact and tell you all about the children’s day. We’ve also enjoyed our MacMillan coffee morning, the new parents’ barbecue and the Halloween party, which have been lovely social occasions for both children and parents.
This week, Nursery have enjoyed some natural painting in the forest. They enjoyed collecting different natural resources and everyone got stuck in with printing, painting and rolling their chosen painting tools! Reception have been learning about autumn and today made an autumn berry crumble to take home and enjoy with their families. Year 1 had a fire in Forest School on Monday and used the cauldron for the first time this year to make a delicious treat of hot chocolate- obviously enjoyed with a biscuit too! They have also had their violin experience, which was an amazing new skill to learn! Year 2 have amazed us with their science work this week; they have been testing different materials to see which ones conducted electricity.
All in all a wonderful first half term in Pre-Prep. We hope everyone has a lovely half term and a chance to have a rest before coming back to school as, before long, the countdown to Christmas will be on!
