King's Hawford

Celebrating success as sunshine comes out!
The sun came out as pupils came together for this week’s Celebration Assembly, serenaded by Ava playing Tiptoe and Tango by Sarah W on her flute.
Kicking off the celebrations for the week, we reflected back to last weekend, when pupils from King’s Hawford were in action, embracing their passions outside school. First up, Millie, Pippa, Marnie and Pip, all in Year Five, were congratulated on their impressive performances playing for Worcester Hockey Club. They, along with their team mates from the club, were crowned Regional Champions. Mrs Butt added a well done to all of the Year Five girls who play for Worcester Hockey Club and have played in county tournaments.
Also in action last weekend, King’s Hawford hosted an equestrian event at Gracelands in Droitwich. With over 90 participants from across the county, twelve pupils proudly represented King’s Hawford. Mr Butt attended the event and commented on what a fabulous success it had been. All participants received a rosette for taking part, with additional rosettes for those who achieved outstanding results in various categories.
The assembly then moved on to our traditional awards. Budding mathematicians, Alice and Maddie (Year Two) both received certificates for NumBots, whilst Hugo G, Mia B, Nancy E (all Year One), Emily G and Lily G (Year Two), Evelyn J and Simi H (Year Three) and Florrie (Year Four) all received praise for achieving five subject merits. They will enjoy a tasty treat with Mr Butt at break-time, along with an abundance of HMA winners. Headmaster’s Awards were made for a variety of impressive achievements, and went to Daisy, Rosie, Louis and Florrie (Year Four) for achieving 100% in their French test, Jess, Pip, Sophie, Finn and Chloe for their exciting Earth Day-themed cam toys, and to Adelyn, Robyn and Harry for their organism booklets. Elizabeth (Year Three) was also awarded an HMA for her fabulous poster on Mount Vesuvius.
With the end of the school year approaching, there was a significant number of pupils achieving their activity badges. Arthur received his Reading Badge, Noah, Syrenna and Sadie their Fellowship Badges, George, an Eco Badge and Cameron his Science Badge. Robyn and Christopher received their PE Badges, Teddy and Henry their Maths Badges, Henry and Robyn also received their Music Badges, and Henry and James achieved their Humanities Badges, whilst James also received his One Star Badge.
Top House Point achievers were next to be recognised. These were Arlo (Reception), Monty (Year One), Jessica (Year Two), Simi (Year Three), Adelyn (Year Four), Jess (Year Five) and Henry (Year Six). We also celebrated a number of Times Tables Rockstar awards including Gabe for Busker Status, Samuel for Support Act, Nicholas for Headliner and Arthur for Rock Legend.
The assembly was rounded off with a beautiful rendition of If I were a Butterfly and a prayer from Year Six pupil, Chris. Finally the music certificates previously announced were presented and the House with the most House points was revealed: well done Bredon, although there wasn’t a huge number between the four houses, so it’s still all to play for!
