Celebrating Success: Autumn Term Week 3

Today’s celebration assembly featured a stirring musical montage, starting with John Williams’ rousing theme from Superman as pupils came together in our Pre-Prep hall, followed by a truly awe-inspiring flute solo Tambourin by Gossec from Mrs Gunter.  The musical theme continued with a rousing rendition of  All Things Bright and Beautiful, which gave our Pre-Prep children chance to show off the hard work they have put in to leaning this ever popular hymn.

We celebrated this week’s Pre-Prep Super Stars, starting with Luna from Reception who earned a certificate in recognition of the effort she has put into her phonics this week.  From Year 1, Amber was congratulated on her flexibility and ability to rise to a challenge, as was Elodie for being a fantastic role model.  Jasper, in Year 2 received a certificate for embracing challenge and Ben was congratulated for always listening carefully to feedback.

Our Prep School mathematicians have been busy this week. From Year 5, Jack was commended for his determination and focus and Rory has worked at great pace and with great accuracy.  From Year 6, Mia, Elin and Lily earned a round of applause for their neat, accurate and well set out work.

A creative writing exercise titled ‘My Unusual Morning” set by Year 6 teacher Mr Braithwaite was the reason for much celebration following the lively and imaginative way in which the children responded.  In particular, well done to Henry, Alanna, Lily-Mae, Ollie and Aiden.

There were music certificates a plenty to award to those who took exams over the summer holidays.  Well done to Sebastian and Lex on passing Grade 1 piano, to Alice and Tommy who passed their initial grade piano, to Wilf who passed Grade 1 cornet and Mia who passed Grade 3 violin.

The assembly concluded with the announcement of our Year 6 Prefects. Congratulations to Sam R, Sam C, Patrick, Izzy, Mea, Ivy, Seb, Ollie and Persephone who were presented with their much coveted purple badges.
