Celebrating Success: Spring Term Week 9

There was plenty of celebrating to be done in assembly today. Before Mrs Phillips handed out the awards, pupils were treated to some 80s classics to help them get into the mood ahead of next week’s Charities Day. It was especially wonderful to see Reception busting some moves in the classroom – completely oblivious that they were on camera! If only we could bottle some of that energy.

In today’s assembly we were treated to music from Johnnie T, who played Pirates Delight. A brilliant start to proceedings. Johnnie had approached Mrs Phillips earlier in the week and asked if he could play in assembly. It was perfect timing as we were without Mrs Hughes today.

This week has seen a large number of pupils through Mrs Phillips’ office door to receive Head Teacher Awards. In fact there have been so many this week that the Basket of Brilliance is in need of replenishing! Well done to Gabriel in Year 1 who received his award. Year 3 pupils, Charles N, Louie F and Pippa P were awarded their HTAs for their brilliant book reviews.

In Year 4 a total of 7 pupils picked up HTAs this week. Well done to Evan N, George G, Grace D, James B, Jetta P, Robyn G and Teddy C who were awarded their HTAs for excellent work in maths this week.

Year 6 pupils Imogen B and Seren L impressed their teachers and Mrs Phillips with some very dramatic monologues that they had produced as part of their English lesson.

The House Point competition is heating up! This week the following pupils achieved the title of Top House Point Scorer for their year group: Rupert C (Rec), Simi H (Y1), James RAC (Y2), Charles N (Y3), Evan N (Y4), Johnnie T (Y5) and Daniel L (Y6). Well done!!

Last week Kinver managed to cling on to the top position but things were tight at the top. This week Clent pupils have added 458 points to their running total to take the top place. With three weeks left of term there is still plenty of time for the other houses:

Bredon: 2119

Clent: 2188

Kinver: 2203

Malvern: 2064

There were a number of Activity Badges to award at the end of the assembly. Bertie D has gained his Humanities Badge today, Emily S has gained her Science Badge and Molly W her Art Badge. Anya R, Liv O and Millie P who were all presented with their Sports Badge.
