Celebration Assembly 4th December 2020

We began today’s assembly with a fantastic saxophone performance from Sixth Form pupil, Bethan, who wowed the children as they watched from across the KSA.  Thank you, Bethan!

There were plenty of certificates to award to our hard-working Pre-Prep children. Daisy, Jasper and Marnie received awards for focus and George, Nell and Archie all earned Superstar awards.  Well done to all of you!

Reception have had a very naughty elf causing trouble in the classroom this week.  At one point, Mr Chapman was called to have a firm word with the elf for sitting on top of the white board!  Despite this, the children have done some super work!  Elodie has worked very hard on her handwriting, Persie painted a super snowman and Poppy painted a fantastic picture of the naught elf himself.

Year 1 read “While the World is Sleeping,” as inspiration for some descriptive writing about what they can see and hear at night.  Well done to Kasvika on her superb work.  In Year 2, Yifei was congratulated on her excellent work in science looking at why other planets in our soar system are not habitable by humans and Rosie wrote a fabulous poem about space using rhyming couplets.

4J have been learning about life in Roman times and during assembly we watched a demonstration of them marching in formation in the Chapel with the super Roman shields that they have made.  Meanwhile, 4R made ‘alien slinkies’ to demonstrate the wonderful adjectives and similes they can use in their creative writing.

Mr Chapman had plenty of certificates to award today. There were 4 bronze and 23 Silver Times Tables certificates.  Ace passed her Grade 1 violin with Merit and Josh, Jinc, Harry and Charlotte C received Gold Awards certificates for their excellent performance in the recent Bebras Computer Challenge. Well done, all of you!
