Chance to Dance made a sensational comeback on Friday 4th March in the Wightman Studio (located on the King’s Worcester campus). It was organised and run successfully by two Upper Sixth Gold Arts Award students, Steph B and Tiff B. They did a brilliant job organising the posters, sending emails to parents, planning and running rehearsals and making sure the music was cut to the correct length for each dance.
Chance to Dance is just as it says…. a chance for our budding dancers throughout the Prep School to showcase their hard work on a stage. Professional lights, designed for each individual dance, created the appropriate atmosphere for each piece, accompanied as they were by musical tracks played via the outstanding, integrated sound system. This was a real treat for the performers as well as for the live audience supporting our talented dancers.
Participants in this initiative can either show dances they have already learnt or can partner up with a friend or two and devise their own dances. It was lovely to see dances from every year group. The variety of dances was also wonderful to see. We had modern, ballet, contemporary and tap dancing.
This was a great event. Congratulations to everyone who took part – we are already looking forward to doing it all again next year! In the meantime, pupils are gearing up for this year’s Creative ConneXions, A Night at the Gallery. Working extremely hard to ensure that the show is ready, our pupils are all really excited about the forthcoming performances on Wednesday 30th and Thursday 31st March, full details of which will be circulated to parents shortly.
