King's St Alban's

Christmas arrives at King’s St Alban’s

Junior School Christmas Carol Service

Filmed in Worcester Cathedral, King’s St Albans pupils attended a service to celebrate this time of year.  This was one of only two services to happen this year so the pupils represented all the children in Worcester with their fantastic singing.

Pre-Prep Nativity

Christmas always begins in King’s Pre-Prep with the children starting to rehearse for their Nativity performance. This year has been slightly different with the children having to rehearse in separate year groups. However, they put their all into the retelling of the traditional story of ‘The Nativity’. The children brought the story to life with their fantastic acting, wonderful dancing and beautiful singing.

They had great fun being filmed for the nativity rather than performing to an audience, and the children felt like film stars! Pre-Prep have loved watching this year’s version of their nativity, and although they were not able to film it together, watching the other year groups has brought them all together and added extra Christmas spirit. We are so proud of all of the children and how they still got involved despite the unusual circumstances.

Junior School Christmas Concert

On Thursday and Friday last week we turned our beautiful Chapel into a recording studio for our music performances. All the children in Years 3-5, plus our year group ensembles have been working very hard for the last three weeks to prepare Christmas music for a special video to finish off the year. For the younger children, this took the place of preparations for our Carol Service, in which only Year 6 and the Choristers were able to sing. We took the opportunity to explore some seasonal repertoire that would not usually feature in the Carol Service and had a lot of fun. This was very successful and a very enjoyable occasion.
