Commitment of CCF Cadets Celebrated
It was a busy weekend for the King’s Worcester CCF, with their Biennial Inspection on Friday followed by a Skills at Arms Training Weekend.
Friday saw the CCF undergo their Biennial Inspection. For these inspections, which take place every two years, a Reviewing Officer and Regular Army and RAF representatives check all our records and paperwork before attending our training to ensure that we are at the required standard, very much like a school ISI or OfStEd Inspection.
This year, Colonel Stamford Cartwright kindly agreed to be our Reviewing Officer. He awarded our newest recruits their berets, which signified the completion of a term of recruit training and the beginning of their journey in the Army and RAF sections.
Colonel Cartwright then toured training and observed cadets taking part in leadership and engineering tasks, qualified cadets in Rifle Drill, and took part in lessons being delivered by cadets on their Methods of Instruction Course. He ended the parade with a short address to the cadets, thanking them for their commitment and celebrating the abilities and high standards that he had witnessed throughout his afternoon with the CCF.
Our newest cadets then took part in a weekend of Skill at Arms training. They were taught the mechanics of two of the different target rifles which the CCF use for marksmanship training and, most importantly, how to operate them safely.

0 which took place during the Sunday afternoon. Cadets who have already undergone the training also attended on the Sunday to revise and take their safety tests, thereby remaining current for another six months. Over 50 cadets attended and passed their tests in preparation for next weekend’s shooting weekend.
A special mention should go to Cadet Sergeant Will P who, with help from other senior cadets, provided highly skilled revision sessions that helped prepare the cadets so well.
