Dedicated Learning Support Assistant - King's Hawford

King’s Hawford Prep School is seeking a Dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work with a Year 2 pupil who requires 1:1 SEND support.

Main purpose of the role

• To assist in promoting the learning, personal development and safety of the pupil to whom you are assigned to enable them to make best use of the educational opportunities available to them.

• To work under the instruction/guidance of the SENCO, Senior Leaders and the Form Teacher to undertake work, care and support programmes, to enable access to learning for the pupil in accordance with the needs set out in the EHCP. Work may be carried out inside or outside of the classroom.

Hours of work

This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week (flexibility will be required), term time only. The role is fixed term for the duration of the approved funding whilst the pupil is enrolled at King’s Hawford.

Safeguarding responsibilities of the successful candidate

Staff are advised to maintain an attitude of “it could be happening here and probably is” as far as safeguarding is concerned and should always act in the best interest of the child.

All staff are expected to actively promote and safeguard the welfare of all pupils. As this post involves significant contact with children and the postholder will be responsible for children, they will be considered to be in regulated activity and must report any concerns in a timely manner.

All staff must also attend annual safeguarding training and have proper regard for the School’s safeguarding policy and procedures.

Minibus Drivers

We are looking for individuals to join our pool of Minibus Drivers.

Working as part of the pool, could involve:

  • Driving set routes, before and after school, to collect and return pupils, ranging from Year 3 to Year 13.
  • Ad hoc driving duties for school trips and fixtures and to provide cover in cases of staff sickness and holiday.

We are looking for applicants who are reliable, committed, friendly, courteous and professional. You must be over 21, have a clean driving licence with category D1, held for at least 2 years, and be prepared to undertake further driver training.

Our pool of minibus drivers provide reliable pupil transport to and from the King’s Schools. You will be based at the Senior School in the centre of Worcester.

Working pattern and salary

  • Zero hours contract.
  • Term time only.
  • If assigned to a permanent route, hours could be up to 25 hrs per week on a rota basis, Monday to Friday, 06:30 – 09:00 and 17:00 – 19:00.
  • £13.19 per hour.
