Year 6 dance the night away!

As the Autumn Term draws to a close, the Year 6 dance club was delighted to welcome a live audience, all be it a small one, to their end of term mini-show. The girls have been working extremely hard, ably supported by Mrs Lewis, throughout the term as part of their extra-curricular activity programme. The resulting performance clearly demonstrated of all the pupils’ hard work and determination.
The dance club pupils looked wonderful in their sparkly white dresses and samba style head dresses. Dancing to an upbeat song called Bongo Cha, Cha, Cha ,the group finished off their lively dance shaking brightly coloured pompoms with beaming smiles across their faces; it was clearly evident that the pupils had enjoyed the dance.
Moving on, the pupils took to the dance floor once more for a second dance which had a very Christmassy feel to it. The song was called Believe, from Polar Express. Each pair of dancers had choreographed their own section in the dance, having been given a brief to mirror one another.  The children danced beautifully and their interpretation of the music was spot on!
A number of the Year 6 dance club that have performed this week will also be performing next week as part of the Drama club end of term performance. The pupils will be performing the Bongo Cha, Cha, Cha dance again; they can’t wait!
