With the lockdown restrictions starting to be eased, businesses are now having to work out how to run viably and maintain the safety of their employees in line with new government guidelines.

In this radio interview, Charlie was speaking in his role as Chairman at Brockway carpets in Kidderminster and talked about how they are creating a ‘Covid-secure’ working environment.

Charlie explained how this involves managing traffic flow and having one-way systems as well as staggering breaks and start times for employees.

Charlie says, “Lockdown has been incredibly challenging as all our customers had to shut down immediately and we have been without orders for the duration.

I have 100 employees which is quite a responsibility and work for me has been flat out for eight weeks to ensure we are in good shape for whatever the future holds.

In many ways it has been a great opportunity to really analyse the business and embrace all the things that will make us stronger in the future.

We’ve even set up a whole new rug business from scratch during the lockdown and will come out of this a better business than before.”
