Excitement Builds at Move Up Afternoon

There was a real sense of excitement throughout the Prep School as pupils took part in our annual Move Up Afternoon, spending time in their new classrooms and meeting the teachers who will guide them in September.

For our current Year 2 pupils, the afternoon provided an exciting first taste of Prep School life. They enjoyed a range of board games and activities designed to help their new teachers get to know them, while also beginning to form friendships with classmates for the year ahead.

Year 3 pupils explored their new Year 4 classroom and created self-portraits, which will be proudly displayed when they return in September. Meanwhile, Year 4 pupils enjoyed a variety of “getting to know you” activities in their new Year 5 classrooms, with Two Truths and a Lie proving particularly popular.

For Year 5, the afternoon marked an important milestone as they moved up to the top of the Prep School and spent time in their new Year 6 classrooms. Through a range of team-building and problem-solving activities, including the popular Alphabet Challenge, they began preparing for their final year in the Prep Department.

It was also a pleasure to welcome the new pupils who will be joining King’s St Alban’s in September. Move Up Afternoon provided a wonderful opportunity for them to meet their classmates, make new friends and begin to feel part of our school community.

We were equally delighted to introduce two new members of staff: Mrs Dalton, who will be teaching Year 3, and Miss Jones, who will be teaching Year 5. We are thrilled to have them joining the King’s St Alban’s team and know they will be a wonderful addition to our school community.

The smiles, laughter and enthusiasm seen throughout the afternoon were wonderful to witness, and there is already plenty of excitement building for the start of the new academic year.
