Festive celebrations at King’s St Alban’s
The drama productions and nativities have been performed, the carol services sung, Christmas cards and crafts have been completed and so the end of the Autumn Term has almost been reached – but we couldn’t have finished the term without a couple of festive celebrations, namely the House Christmas Quiz and of course a traditional Christmas lunch!
Pouring out of King’s St Alban’s and across the road to the John Moore Theatre located at ‘Big King’s’ the entire Prep School, Years 3 to 6 joined together in their house groups for a festive house quiz. As you would expect there was plenty of enthusiasm and determination to be the winning team. Some of the questions really tested the pupils however, they most certainly rose to the challenge – they even managed to get some of the tricky ones designed to catch them out! Well done to all of the house teams – splendid job!
The Prep School children were all extremely excited as they headed for the dining hall and the prospect of a Christmas lunch with all the trimmings and perhaps a delicious helping of Christmas pudding if anyone had enough room in their tummies? Thomas Franks, the King’s Worcester catering company did not disappoint from succulent turkey to a rich gravy and tender vegetables all cooked to perfection, anyone would have thought we were in a Michelin starred restaurant. It was so good that the Prep school children thought it fitting to give the catering staff three cheers – well deserved.
The children had a splendid time pulling crackers and telling each other jokes before returning to King’s St Alban’s for a somewhat more relaxed afternoon, the perfect way to round off the festive celebrations. The King’s St Alban’s children wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year – see you in January.
