Final Celebration Assembly

On Wednesday the school gathered together for the final Celebration Assembly of the academic year. Luckily the sun shone down on the quad and there was a great buzz amongst the children as they applauded each other on their triumphs. The children were especially excited to learn which house had won the coveted house point trophy…..congratulations to Thomas House who narrowly pipped the other houses to the top prize!

  • Well done to Sazan, Chloe and Florence V on their super self-portraits.
  • Mrs Pitts was incredibly impressed with the confidence and clarity with which 5P delivered their ‘show and tell’ presentations this week.  Everyone learned something new from their peers’ enthusiastic deliveries.
  • Congratulations to Mea, Mia, Ollie K-D, JM and Felix who managed to squeeze in their Platinum times tables certificates before the term finishes.
  • 4R have been writing Kennings Poems (an old Viking riddle) and Leo, Georgia and Harry B were commended on their excellent work.
  • Well done to Emily, Alex, Jinc and Angus who have all barely dropped a mark in all of the year’s spellings tests.
  • Mr Chapman set his Year 6 maths set a very tricky painted cube puzzle and was incredibly impressed when Josh used a complicated algebraic equation to solve the problem.
  • A huge well done to Emily H who donated her locks to the Princess Trust when she had it cut recently.
  • Congratulations to Sebastian C who earned a distinction in his Grade 1 piano.
  • The children’s efforts to raise money for the RSPCA this week have brought in just over £540.
  • It was a delight to hold our Sports Days this week, all the more so for Anna, Jack T and Florence V who all broke long standing records.
