Forest School at King's St Alban's

Our Forest School is set in a beautiful space in the grounds of King’s St Alban’s.

Forest School enables children to develop social skills as well as an understanding of the world around them in our safe and engaging woodland area.

our forest school programme

All of Pre-Prep enjoy a weekly Forest School session which is specifically planned with each individual’s needs in mind. Activities help to nurture self-esteem, communication, and respect for their own and other people’s feelings and emotions. Forest School is a long-term programme where each child is given the space, time and flexibility to learn and grow. We make the most of our outdoor sessions in all weather; rainy days are perfect for splashing in puddles and finding the best materials for a shelter and the children always enjoy making hot chocolate at the end of a cold winter’s Forest School session. Other activities may include creating environmental art, learning to manage our Forest School area, taking part in team building and communication games, building campfires and learning how to use tools to create objects like a pencil or a dreamcatcher.

An after-school Forest School club is also available for Year 1 and Year 2 pupils.
