Hockey Teams Shine in Matches Against The Blue Coat School

Mrs Butt’s U11 Team

On a very wet Wednesday afternoon, the U11 team travelled to The Blue Coat School with great determination. Despite the conditions, the team’s spirits remained high throughout the match. The defence, led by Elizabeth and Pip K, held firm, allowing the midfield and forwards to focus on their attack. The game saw a flurry of goals, with set pieces and attacking plays paying off. The final score was a comfortable victory, with Millie B nominated as the player of the match for her outstanding contributions.

Miss Lake’s U11 Team

The U11 B team started strong but were challenged by a resilient Blue Coat defence. Despite falling behind 2-0 by half-time, the team worked tirelessly in the second half, showing determination to push forward. Excellent saves by Lyra in goal kept the scoreline respectable. Jess was named player of the match by the opposition for her defensive efforts, with Lyra recognised for her brave goalkeeping.

U10 Team 1

After arriving in driving rain, the weather cleared just in time for the U10 Team 1’s match, and King’s Hawford wasted no time in dominating possession from the outset. The team’s exceptional teamwork and swift passing moves were key to their success. The opening goal was a composed finish, quickly followed by another to secure an early lead. Excellent goals followed, and the team rounded off the match with a 5-1 victory.

Key to the win was the team’s fluid coordination and early passing, which broke down Blue Coat’s defence. Strong defensive work, coupled with determination across the pitch, ensured a solid performance. The opposition nominated Florrie W. as the player of the match for her impressive contribution.

U10 Team 2

The second U10 team faced tough opposition but displayed tremendous resilience. Despite a physical encounter, they pressed forward with numerous opportunities on goal. Their defensive line, supported by hard work in midfield, ensured the game remained competitive throughout.

Valerie was awarded player of the match by the opposition for her strength on the ball and determination before an unfortunate injury saw her leave the field.

Miss Odam’s U9 Team

Miss Odam’s U9 team impressed with their positive and competitive attitude throughout their match. With relentless energy, they closed down Blue Coat’s attacks and made some excellent forward moves. Solid defensive work and precise passing contributed to a strong performance, building their confidence with every game. The player of the match, nominated by Blue Coat, was Georgia Palmer.

In a fast-paced and end-to-end game, Mrs Butt’s U9 team showcased excellent attacking play and sharp passing. Strong defensive performances, coupled with relentless pressure on the opposition, led to a well-earned victory. Aurelia A was named player of the match for her exceptional passing and creativity, as the team worked together to achieve success.

Mrs Beech’s U9 Team

Back at King’s Hawford, Mrs Beech’s U9 team welcomed The Blue Coat School to a perfectly prepared pitch. With excellent leadership from Ellie H, the team worked hard in both attack and defence. Every player contributed to an energetic and fast-paced match, with Alanna and Amelie learning to support each other in defence and making crucial saves. The Blue Coat opposition awarded player of the match to Ellie H for her relentless attacking play, while Mrs Beech’s star player was Amelie, who stood out with her brilliant defensive work.

The matches were a fantastic showcase of the progress and talent within the King’s Hawford teams, setting them up well for future challenges and tournaments.
