How to join King's Sixth Form, Worcester

We warmly welcome inquiries from pupils wishing to join King’s for the Sixth Form and invite all interested parties to visit us in Worcester at our Sixth Form Open Morning on Saturday 9th November, or on a normal working day by requesting a visit. Offers are made on the basis of a reference from the current school, projected GCSE grades (or equivalent), a written personal statement and attendance on an Assessment Day.

A Level Assessment Day

During the A level Assessment Day, applicants will take part in various team-building exercises. They can observe A Level lessons in subjects that they are interested in, undertake a cognitive ability test (a specially designed multiple-choice test geared to the age group, containing elements of English, Mathematics and spatial relationships) and have an interview.

Offering a place at sixth form

Offers are then made which are conditional on GCSE results. To qualify for entry to the King’s Sixth Form, Worcester the minimum requirement for external candidates is usually six passes at least at grade 6 and a further two passes at grade 4 at GCSE. We would expect most of our Sixth Form applicants to comfortably exceed this. Ideally, candidates should expect to achieve a grade 7 or higher in any subject that is to be taken at A Level if these subjects have been taken at GCSE, but a 6 will usually be accepted.
