King’s Musicians Prepare for Tour to Venice
As part of the preparations for the forthcoming music tour to Venice during half term, the music department was invited to take part in the Cathedral’s lunchtime concert series. The School Choir, Keys Choir and Chamber Orchestra performed a selection of pieces for the tour including Monteverdi’s six-part motet Adoramus te, Christe. Franz Biebl’s beautiful setting of Ave Maria was sung with great control by the Keys Choir and the Chamber Orchestra finished off the concert with works by English composers Elgar and Holst. The Choir will participate in Mass at St Mark’s Basilica. In addition the pupils will perform Mass followed by a concert in Padua and a further concert in Venice.
The music department has recently set up a Twitter account where you will be able to follow updates from the tour - twitter.com/KSWMusicSchool.
