Last Wednesday our U15 athletes, pupils from the Lower Remove and Upper Fourth, competed at the District Athletic Championships. King’s Worcester did exceedingly well, winning 17 out of the 23 events.
So far this season, King’s have been going from strength to strength, with consistently high numbers to training and fixtures each week.
King’s had some stand out performances across the afternoon, with a special mention to Jess D (LR), who broke the school record for Javelin and won the competition by over 10 metres with a throw of 30.70m.
Congratulations also go to Dan A (LR) who won both his 200m and Triple Jump, with results of 25.69 seconds and 9.92m respectively. King’s came first and second in the 1500m with Phoebe M (U4) and Ella P (U4) respectively, as well as first and second in the Shot Put with Henry H and Jack F respectively. Matteo S (U4) and Roman W (U4) both jumped 1.43m in the High Jump, with Matteo winning the competition. Barnaby R won the Long Jump with a distance of 4.69m, as well as Frankie B (LR), who won his competition with a jump of 4.20m.
Qualifiers from this competition will next compete in the U15 County Athletic Championships in June, and from there they will be competing to qualify for Hereford and Worcestershire, where they will compete in the Mason Trophy.
King’s boys have qualified for 15 places at the County Athletic Championships and the girls have qualified for 17 places.
Congratulations to all the athletes involved and the best of luck in the next round!
