King’s Footballers are Well-prepared after Pre-season Camp

On 4th January twenty senior footballers travelled to S.L. Benfica in Lisbon for the football development pre-season camp. Pupils from Fifth Form up to Upper Sixth trained in the academy where the senior and junior teams train on a daily basis and rubbed shoulders with current and future stars who were training on adjacent pitches during our training sessions. King’s pupils received four top class training sessions given by S.L. Benfica’s full time professional coaches and played matches versus local academy sides C.D. Cova de Piedade (second division club) and Galitos FC. The First team drew one and lost one and the Second team lost both, but all games were very tight.
