King’s Senior Sevens Follow the Success of the Under Fifteens

King’s senior sevens team followed on from the success of their younger counterparts on Sunday by winning their own tournament at Droitwich Rugby Club last night.

A predictably strong field of sixteen schools, including Bradford Grammar School, Ellesmere College and local rivals RGS Worcester, began the day in cold and blustery conditions.

King’s topped their group and progressed to the knock-out stages but only after posting a terrific score against Bishop Vesey’s in their last group game, having earlier lost to Adams Grammar School.

Now hitting their stride, King’s played three excellent games of controlled rugby in the knock-out stage, beating KES Birmingham (45-0), 2017 winners, St Peters, Gloucester (29-12) and Old Swinford Hospital School (31-19) in a pulsating final.

The senior squad travel to Rosslyn Park next week where they will be looking to build on what has been an excellent season so far.
