King’s St Alban’s children and staff enthusiastically joined thousands of people around the country by wearing an item of yellow clothing in support of the fantastic work of charity, Young Minds.
Pupils started the day, Friday 8th October, with an energising ‘wake and shake’ on the school playground. There were some fantastic moves from both pupils ranging from Nursery through to Year 6 as well as many of the teachers! It certainly made everyone’s day go with a bang; thank you to Mrs Lewis and here Year 6 Mindful Ambassadors for leading on this initiative.
Pupils had some wonderful, innovative takes on yellow clothing alongside our staff – there was even a yellow fairy complete with wings and a tutu in the staff room! Donating £2 each to Young Minds, King’s St Alban’s pupils are delighted to be supporting such a pivotal, worthy cause.
Raising awareness of mental health, in our whole school assembly Mr Chapman explained the importance of looking after our own mental health, that we are not alone and that it is good to talk.
