Charlie Hooman
Director of Sport
After completing a degree in Sports and Exercise Science, followed by a Master’s in Sports Psychology, Charlie joined the King’s Foundation in 2018. During this time, he undertook a PGCE through King’s and the University of Buckinghamshire, qualifying as a PE teacher. In 2020, he was appointed Head of Boys’ Games at King’s St Alban’s. Alongside this role, he has contributed to the senior school by teaching PE and Games, coaching teams, and serving as a Castle House form tutor. These experiences have enabled him to support pupils at King’s St Alban’s in making a successful transition into senior school.
Charlie is now delighted to have been appointed Director of Sport and looks forward to driving an already outstanding department forward.
Sport has always been a central part of Charlie’s life, both as a player and a supporter, with particular interests in football, rugby, and cricket. He has represented the county in both football and cricket, and continues to play football at weekends. He is also a season ticket holder at Wolverhampton Wanderers. Away from sport, Charlie values time spent with his family, especially his young nephews.
His main aim is to instil a lifelong love of sport and physical activity, encouraging children to carry this passion with them into senior school and beyond. He believes that sport should be enjoyable, inclusive, and enriching, offering every child the chance to participate, improve, and represent the school with pride.
